September 3, 2010

In November 2009, I began having pain in my intestinal area.  It would come and go.  Before long the pain was almost constant.  I was having less energy and stamina and was hurting almost every time I ate.  I began losing weight...getting weaker and weaker.

I had felt that the Lord had asked me to move from Colorado Springs to Georgia to help my Mom take care of my Dad, whose health was failing.  I kept asking the Lord for complete healing.  I thought for sure that He would since He was asking me to make this move and then I would need to have the strength to help.  I just kept going down.
I did make the move in late January 2010.  Only with the help of many friends to pack the trailer, and my brother, Joe, driving me across country was I able to make it.  When I got to Georgia I was able to help some with my Dad, but not a lot.  The pain was intense.  I kept thinking God would heal me.  My Dad went "home" on February 19 and I wanted to make it through his memorial service before I went to the doctor to get checked out.

I made an appointment with Progressive Medical Center (PMC) in Atlanta.  There are MDs and NDs there and they do many of the latest alternative therapies.  Dr Jones MD (oncologist) was the one who sent me to the hospital...saying that I was anemic.  After many tests at the hospital, they discovered that I had a mass in my colon.  I was too weak to have the surgery, so I had to wait several days having nutritional IVs and 4 pints of blood before I was strong enough.  The mass (malignant, stage IV) was removed and the surgeon said that he "got it all".  I almost died twice while in the hospital.  I just kept talking to the Lord and saying "I would love to come be with You, but right now I believe that there are people who need me here.  I would really like to spend more time with my family, especially my children and grand children.”  He graciously chose to let me live.

The surgeon wanted me to have chemo, but I had already decided that I wouldn't.  I had seen it destroy too many people and I felt that there was a better way.  Dr Jones recommended that I not have chemo and suggested integrative therapies instead.  Having these therapies was very high on the priority list for strengthening my body to fight any remaining cancer cells.

I went back to PMC. They also ran many tests and began a very intense protocol of therapies.  I was receiving Vitamin C IVs, amino acid IVs, ozone therapy IVs, hyperbolic oxygen chamber and counseling about the best way to eat to strengthen my immune system, rebuild and gain weight.  At this point I weighed 83 pounds and I am 5'7".
It was a long slow process of recovery.  I was still in much pain from the surgery.  As the pain began to lessen I regained my strength.  Gaining weight helped tremendously in renewing my stamina.

There was more to my healing than just what PMC prescribed.  I had alot of people praying for me.  God is my healer.  I do believe that is the most important part in healing.  He may heal us instantly or He may lead us down a path of healing.  Whichever way...He is the one in control.

I don't believe that a person will be healed unless the whole person is considered.  There must be wholeness spiritually, physically, mentally and emotionally.  If one part lacks then it affects all the other parts.  If there is unforgiveness or bitterness, then the body will store those things and eventually it will come out as a physical problem.  FEAR is huge when dealing with cancer or any other major disease.  It all comes down to trusting in a heavenly Father (Abba, Papa) who loves us beyond what we can imagine.  Fear raises its ugly head over and over again and the response needs to be to put our hearts and lives into His hands...knowing He is good and wants the best for us.  Some times that is very hard to realize when the circumstances get tough.  I continue to daily find things to be thankful for and to be positive about.  Joy is part of my every day experience.

Another part of my healing process has been through Essential Oils.  I have done much research and found what I think are the highest quality oils produced.  They are just like taking the "life blood" from the plant and putting it into a bottle.  The healing properties have not been destroyed.  Since the Bible says that the plants are for our healing and recommends anointing with oil and praying, then I feel this is one of the essentials for finding health and wholeness.

My medical expenses and therapy costs are very high.  I have applied for financial aid which has not come through yet.  I am praying that it does, but there are no guarantees.  I am unable to continue to have the therapies at PMC because of the cost.  I am also not able to have the resection surgery done because of remaining doctor/hospital bills.  The waiting is difficult.  I would like to move forward with these things.  I believe the answer for the bills will come.

If you would like to know more specifics about my protocol, please see the link that says PROTOCOL and it will take you to a more detailed explanation.  Of course, I am not saying this will work for everyone and I am NOT prescribing it to anyone.  It is just what I have done and what has worked for me.
